Compliance & Certifications for Chemical and Pharmaceutical Valve Projects

Which certificates and compliance documents are available? Nordventil’s ISO certification scope and certificate file must be confirmed before quotation. For EU projects, the documentation package can be checked against PED, pressure-testing, material-traceability and, where applicable, ATEX or sanitary requirements.

ISO 9001
Quality-management certification is highlighted, but the applicable certificate scope and document must be confirmed.
PED 2014/68/EU
Relevant for pressure equipment placed on the EU market. Confirm valve category, conformity route, technical file and Declaration of Conformity for each application.
EN 10204 Type 3.1
Material inspection certificates can document heat number, chemical composition and mechanical properties for stainless-steel pressure parts when specified.
EN 12266-1 / ISO 5208
Pressure and seat-leakage testing standards used for industrial valves. Test pressure, leakage rate and acceptance class should be stated in the inspection plan.
ATEX 2014/34/EU
Applicable only where the valve assembly is intended for potentially explosive atmospheres. Confirm zone, equipment category and any actuator or accessory requirements.
EU sanitary and product-contact requirements
For pharmaceutical service, confirm surface-finish requirements, elastomer compatibility, cleaning method and any requested EU food-contact or GMP-related documentation.

Common market-entry requirements; applicability and documentation are subject to the destination country's current regulations and mutual confirmation.

Applications for Chemical and Pharmaceutical Valve Systems

Nordventil products control chemical, solvent, sanitary, and skid-mounted process lines. Material, seal, cleanliness, and traceability requirements determine the correct stainless steel ball valve or custom valve assembly.

Chemical Process Media

For acids, alkalis, and reactive process fluids, 316 stainless steel bodies with PTFE seats provide corrosion resistance and reliable shutoff.

Pharmaceutical Sanitary Lines

For purified water and product transfer, 316L wetted parts, hygienic connections, drainable geometry, and surface finish around Ra 0.8 µm support cleanability.

Corrosive Liquid Handling

For chloride-bearing or corrosive liquids, 316L construction and chemically compatible PTFE sealing reduce leakage risk across utility and production isolation points.

Solvent and VOC Systems

For solvents and flammable process media, antistatic stainless steel ball valves with suitable PTFE seals support tight isolation and plant safety requirements.

Custom Process Skids

For compact dosing, filtration, and mixing skids, custom valve assemblies combine manual or actuated ball valves, instruments, drains, and documented connections.

FAQ for Stainless Steel Ball Valves and Custom Valve Assemblies

What is your MOQ for stainless steel ball valves?

Our standard MOQ is 10 valves per size and configuration. For custom valve assemblies, we confirm quantities after reviewing the P&ID, connection standard, material grade and actuator requirements.

Can we order samples before a production run?

Yes. One sample can be supplied for dimensional, material and functional review. We issue a drawing and quotation first, then confirm sample lead time and freight before production approval.

What are the lead times for valves and assemblies?

Standard valves normally ship within 4–6 weeks after drawing approval and deposit; samples require about 1–2 weeks. Custom assemblies receive a separate schedule covering procurement, machining, assembly and testing.

How do you perform pressure testing and inspection?

Each valve is pressure-tested to EN 12266-1 requirements, with shell and seat-test results recorded. We can provide dimensional inspection, material verification and an inspection report with the shipment.

Which documents are supplied with the order?

The shipping file can include the commercial invoice, packing list, test report, certificate of conformity and EN 10204 3.1 material certificates. ISO certification details are confirmed for the applicable production site.

What payment, packaging and warranty terms apply?

Our standard terms are 30% deposit and 70% before shipment. Valves are individually protected and packed in export cartons or cases; warranty claims are reviewed against inspection records and agreed contract terms.
